About PPUNISSA

Established in 2007, Persatuan Pelajar Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (PPUNISSA) or UNISSA Student Association is an organization  lead by MPPUNISSA, or the Students Representative Council. The Council  plays a big part in university  life at UNISSA  as exemplary representatives of UNISSA students.

Objectives

• to promote and advocate the interests and welfare of students;
• to preserve the well-being of its members in the University;
• to promote and preserve the image of the University;
• to represent the views and interests of students;
• to plan and organise diverse and holistic student development activities and experiences, representing the interests and goals of the student body and the University;
• to encourage active engagement in holistic student development activities and university life.

Selection Process

The Student Representative Council (MPP) of UNISSA is a student-run organization comprised of students selected by UNISSA students through a voting process conducted annually before the commencement of 1st semester of the new academic year, co-ordinated by the Student Affairs Office.

• UNISSA students will nominate candidates from Year 1 and Year 2 Bachelor degree students.
•  20 most nominated students will be further reviewed based on the set criteria of current academic performance, active involvement in University life, personality and leadership qualities. Candidates will also undergo interviews and participate in group tasks.
• Top 10 students will undergo a 2nd round of election where they will be voted to fill positions in the  Council and Executive Committees.
