MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN UNIVERSITI ISLAM SULTAN SHARIF ALI (UNISSA) AND UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MALANG (UM)

Thursday, 25 January 2024 – Universiti Islam Sultan Shari Ali (UNISSA), through the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre (HTRC) has intensified efforts to establish a cooperative relationship with the Centre for Health and Food, Institute for Research and Community Engagement, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Indonesia by holding the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Signing Ceremony.

Also present were Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad, Assistant Rector (Research, International & Services), UNISSA, Professor Dr Markus Diantoro, Head of the Institute of Community Research and Engagement, UM, Principal Officer of the Centre for International and Public Relations (PusPAA) as well as lecturers and staff from both universities.

Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad, Assistant Rector (Research, International and Services) of UNISSA in his welcome speech welcomed the collaboration with UM. UNISSA and UM have established a very long-standing and very active relationship in collaboration with academic visits and seminars. He hopes that with the signing of the MoA, it will be possible to expand and disseminate the knowledge and expertise that each university has during the training courses for academics, especially in the field of halal. Industrial training or work placement in short courses will be used together to produce innovative and professional graduates.

Professor Dr Ahmad Munjin Nasih, Deputy Rector III (Research and Community Engagement), UM, in his speech welcomed UNISSA’s trust and willingness to establish a cooperative relationship with UM. UM and UNISSA have established a very close relationship and hope that this relationship will be established even closer. Several collaborations were carried out, such as academic visits, seminars and co-publishing.  This collaboration is a platform to expand halal knowledge at the archipelago and international levels, such as exploring the field of research and collaborative studies and sharing the expertise of both parties in halal.

The MoA signatories will also be implemented in the form of student exchange activities, exchange of academic staff and collaborative activities of seminars, research and publications as well as industrial training. UNISSA expects the support and assistance of UM to develop cooperation, especially in the field of Halal Science.

Signing on behalf of UNISSA is Pengiran Dr Hajah Norkhairiah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim, Director, HTRC, UNISSA, while on behalf of UM signed by Dr Titi Mutiara Kiranawati, the Head of the Centre of Health and Food, UM.

 

The ceremony then proceeds with Sinaut campus visit and Courtesy Call with Rector of UNISSA, Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.
