25th August 2023, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), through Faculty of Agriculture (FoA) has organized a workshop on fish feed formulation in conjunction with Mahrajan of 13th Hafl Al-Takharruj.  The objective is to assist the aquaculture farmers and the fish industry in Brunei Darussalam in reducing the costs of importing fish feeds from abroad. The workshop is conducted by Dr Mohammad Bodrul Munir, a senior assistant Professor, Faculty of Agriculture. UNISSA has demonstrated to the Bruneian aquaculture entrepreneurs and relevant stakeholders how to formulate fish feed using local feed ingredients. It will help maintaining the price of fish at an affordable level, provide employments, business opportunities for micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs in rural area to venture into fish farming as well as becoming suppliers for raw feed ingredients. This “Biogenic Fish Feed” has the potential for commercial produced in the Borneo environment.
