BRIEF PROFILE
UNISSA's LLB & BSL degree is a distinctive 5-year double-degree programme which provides an oriented pathway to the prestigious profession of legal and syariah practice. Students will be introduced to courses on the legal and Syariah concepts and principles within the core and compulsory academic components of the programme that underpin the legal dimensions of the Bruneian legal system, which is based on the Syariah and the common law, and the courses offered are as required under the professional and vocational components of both the legal and Syariah studies. The curriculum is meticulously structured to enable students to qualify on an equal standing with graduates of similar Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Syariah Law (BSL) programmes elsewhere, regionally, and internationally.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
English:
At least Grade C6 in English Language at GCE ‘O’ Level Examination or grade ‘C’ in IGCSE English (as a Second Language) or an IELTS score of 6.0 or a TOEFL minimum overall score of 550.
GCE 'A' LEVEL/STPUB:
A minimum of 240 points for three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects preferably Shariah; and the subjects should be of minimum grade ‘C’;
or
Passed Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Ugama Brunei (STPUB) examination or its equivalent with an average grade ‘Jayyid Jiddan ’.
Diploma Qualification
A BDQF Level 5 - Higher National Diploma (HND) / Foundation Degree / Advaced Diploma or equivalent from institutions recognised by the University Senate with at least Merit passes in 5 subjects relevant to the Degree programme to which admission is being sought may be considered.
International Baccalaureate
At least 28 points including a minimum of 5, 5, 4 in relevant subjects at the higher level. Accepted subjects will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Mature Applicants
At least three (3) years of relevant working experience with 1 'A' level or at least five (5) years with 4 'O' levels in any relevant subject.
