Background
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) has approved the establishment of UNISSA’s Ibnu Sina Scientific Laboratory Center at Sinaut Campus on 29th August 2022 during the 12th UNISSA Hafl Al-Takharruj Ceremony at the Plenary Hall, International Conference Center (ICC), Berakas.
His Majesty’s titah:
“Maka untuk memenuhi kepentingan ini, beta pun memperkenankan penubuhan sebuah Makmal Saintifik di Kampus Sinaut dengan nama Pusat Makmal Saintifik Ibnu Sina Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali.”
“Beta optimis, dengan adanya makmal ini akan membuka ruang lebih luas untuk meneroka inovasi baharu melalui penyelidikan berteknologi moden dan sekali gus menjadi pelaburan untuk melahirkan para graduan penyelidik yang berkebolehan.”
In the titah, His Majesty consented to the establishment of a Scientific Laboratory at the Sinaut Campus, named the Ibnu Sina Scientific Laboratory Centre of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University which will open up a wider space to explore new innovations. The Monarch likens the degrees and diplomas received by the graduates as symbols of success in their respective studies.

Mission
A reference scientific laboratory for cutting edge teaching and research using new methods and modern technologies with outcomes relevant to national and international needs/interests.
Objective
1. To be involved (assist) in developing, designing, and operating quality undergraduate and graduate programmes related to applied and pure sciences requiring indoor and outdoor laboratory skills.
2. To engage in inventive and innovative research which accelerates science and technology development in Brunei Darussalam and elsewhere.
3. To establish strategic national and international networks with public and private institutions, agencies, organisations, industries, and communities for mutual benefits in quality teaching, research, training, and other professional services.
