Background
The Center of Islamic Manuscripts Studies is responsible for collecting, storing and preserving handwritten manuscripts by scholars of the past for the purposes of research, study, and education. The Centre will also utilize advanced and modern technology in the analysis and digitization of manuscripts to enhance research productivity and the advancement of knowledge, aiming to preserve Islamic heritage and legacy.

To empower Islamic manuscripts through digitization, study, and research in order to preserve Islamic heritage and treasures.
Objectives
- To foster awareness and expand public understanding of the cultural and historical value of Islamic manuscripts through educational platforms, workshops, training, and seminars.
- To provide comprehensive guidance to researchers, academics, and scholars to broaden knowledge and enhance skills and the quality of academic works through the analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of both authenticated and published manuscripts, as well as those that are yet to be authenticated and need to be explored.
- To identify and collect Islamic manuscripts and to ascertain their locations at local, regional (Borneo and Southeast Asia), and global levels.
- To promote efforts towards the digitization and indexing of manuscripts to facilitate global access for researchers.
- To provide facilities that support research and scholarly study of Islamic manuscripts related to Islamic history, religion, and culture.
- To establish a collaborative platform with local and international researchers and organizations for the benefit of manuscript research and studies.
- To create a center of excellence and reference for Islamic manuscript studies by developing a digital database of Islamic manuscript collections.
