About the Journal

Journal of Halal Science and Technology (JHST) is an international refereed academic journal focusing on contemporary issues of halal. It is a double-blind peer-reviewed international academic journal published bi-annually (June and December) by the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA). JHST invites prospective authors to submit original and unpublished works in areas that include, but are not limited to, halalan thayyiban, halal science, technology, and management. It is a peer-reviewed journal that provides an up-to-date, academic, authoritative, and critical analysis of current issues in Brunei Darussalam and across the globe. Submissions to the journal are selected for publication on the basis of a double-blind peer-review mechanism conducted by academics and experts in the field.

JHST is now published in English, and it is open for submission by authors from all over the world. It is currently published twice a year, in June and December.

It is basically the author’s duty to only submit a manuscript that is free from plagiarism and academic malpractice. The papers submitted will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin plagiarism detection tools.  The papers submitted to the JHST must have a similarity level of less than 25%. If the paper performs above 25%, the paper should be revised or rejected.

As of now, all submission charges and Article Processing Charge (APC) are not required (free) for the accepted publication to cover the publication costs.

This is an open-access journal. The articles on this site are available in full text and free of charge to our web visitors.
