DI SEBALIK adanya kepercayaan orang kedayan berasal dari Jawa itu, jika ditinjau tentang kosa kata serta struktur ayat, ternyata Dialek Kedayan (DK) merupakan variasi kepada Dialek Melayu Brunei (DMB) dan subdialek dialek Melayu Standard. Dengan kata lain, Dailek Kedayan (DK) mempunyai bahasa induk yang sama dengan bahasa Melayu Standard. Pengolahan yang berstruktur AYAT PASIF sebagaimana juga dalam bahasa Melayu Standard, dapat juga berfungsi sebagai ayat majmuk, sama ada sebagai klausa bebas dalam ayat majmuk gabungan/berlapis, atau sebagai klausa bebas dan klausa tak bebas dalam ayat majmuk berketerangan/berkait, atau sebagai klausa relatif dalam ayat majmuk sisipan, atau sebagai pelengkap frasa nama dalam ayat majmuk sisipan. |
