520 | _a The Kembara Kenali Borneo programme is an epic journey. weaving its narrative into the tapestry of Malaysian history. The ethos of "King and People Are Inseparable" permeates the essence of this 11-day voyage, capturing its spirit and ambiance. For the first time, thousands of citizens beheld the expedition of Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah as they journeyed along the Pan Borneo Highway, linking Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei. The Kembara Kenali Borneo programme brought to fruition the shared dream of Their Majesties to immerse themselves in the lives of the people in Sabah and Sarawak. These regions are renowned for their unique cultural diversity, rich customs, and artistic craftsmanship. The journey commenced from Kilometre 0 in Tawau, Sabah, and concluded at Kilometre 0 in Telok Melano, Southern Sarawak. Spanning several districts along the route, the expedition involved over 30 convoys of vehicles in both states. Al-Sultan Abdullah graciously piloted a four-wheel-drive vehicle himself during the 11-day journey, clocking a total of 87 hours and 40 minutes on the road. The journey spanned a distance of 2,332 kilometres, surpassing the original estimate of 2,154 kilometres. His Royal Highness the Pemangku Raja Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, along with Tengku Panglima Raja Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah, and Tengku Panglima Perang Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu'adzam Shah, joined the programme in Sarawak from September 9 to 13, 2023. | ||
