Summary: The installation of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on January 31, 2024, was held to continue the tradition of the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The appointment and installation of His Majesty is to replace Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al- Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah. This installation ceremony, which is held every five years, is a highlight in the nation's calendar. It is appropriate with the position of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Supreme Head as provided in Chapter 1, Article 32 and 33 of the Federal Constitution. The manner and method of election of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong is determined by the Conference of Malay Rulers through a secret ballot as described in the Third Schedule Parts 1 and 2 of the Federal Constitution. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong is chosen from a ruler of out of the nine States, namely Pahang, Perak, Terengganu, Perlis, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Kelantan, and Kedah. This exhibition is held as a way to introduce and foster closer relationships between His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim with their subjects. The system of Parliamentary Democracy and the concept of a Constitutional Monarchy are also on show. It is hoped that this exhibition will benefit and enlighten all on the importance of preserving this tradition for future generations as a symbol of the nation's sovereignty, an umbrella that protects and shelters everyone of us in this country EXHIBITION OBJECTIVES 1. To clarify the role and position of the institution of Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the concept of Constitutional Monarchy in the Parliamentary Democracy system of government as practiced in this country. 2. To introduce the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong to the people in conjunction with His Majesty's installation on January 31st, 2024. 3. To strengthen the spirit of patriotism and sense of undivided loyalty to the country and government of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. 4. To reflect the importance of the institution of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the concept of Constitutional Monarchy as a pillar for sovereignty, peace, prosperity, harmony and the country's development. 5. To defend the glory and sovereignty of the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as practiced in this country.
