The original landscape and landscape of the hilly forest in this 96.52 hectare area has housed a complex that holds up a landmark and a proud symbol of the country's constitutional monarchy system.

The Istana Negara Jalan Duta complex is one of the high priority projects of the Malaysian Government and has been classified as a Major Project by the Malaysian Public Works Department, construction began at the end of November 2007 and was fully completed at the end of September 2011.
