N1  - Books in this Law Collection are donations from the late Dato Paduka Seri Setia Professor Dr. Mahmud Saedon bin Awang Othman, the late Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Yahya bin Haji Ibrahim and Brunei Shell Petroleum, as well as books purchased by UNISSA. 

This room was named after the late Dato Paduka Seri Setia Professor Dr. Haji Awang Mahmud Saedon bin Awang Othman (1943-2002) as he was an expert in Islamic Law and Islamic Jurisprudence of the Government of Brunei Darussalam.

He was conferred a professorship in Syariah in the Department of Syariah at the Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Institute of Islamic Studies (IPISHOAS), UBD and his expertise provided a strong foundation for the launching of the Diploma Perundangan dan Guaman Syariah in UBD which was later taught in the Faculty of Syariah and Law, UNISSA after the establishment of UNISSA in 2007.

He was also one of the earliest UNISSA book donators on the subject of Law. His references are widely used by students and academicians in UNISSA
