The Dewan Perdana Dictionary (KDP) is the largest and most complete Malay language dictionary produced by the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. The main target of this dictionary is native speakers of Malay and non-native speakers who are proficient in using Malay. More than 120 thousand entries and sub-entries include common words, terms, dialects and cognate words. The new analysis is based on corpus data of more than 113 million words in the DBP Corpus, in addition to word usage on the Internet. There is information on word endings, Jawi spelling, pronunciation and word classes. Around 7000 etymological information is given in this dictionary. Definitions of field terms are provided together with authoritative field experts. Extracting information on the definition of dialect words and cognate language words is done together with selected informants. All examples of usage are taken from a reliable Malay corpus.
