The ASEAN Food Handling Project was set up under the ASEAN-Australia Economic Co-Operation Program (AAECP) and is concerned with improving efficiency in the handling and distribution of food from producers to consumers in ASEAN. Emphasis is given to reducing postharvest or postproduction losses in order to increase the quantity and improve the quality of the food supply, and to increase the financial return to food producers. The Project is the direct responsibility of the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Food Handling.
