In line with the present demands for the utilization of Biotechnology in forest tree improvement, BIOTROP held a Symposium on the Application of Tissue Culture Techniques on Economically Important Tropical Trees in Bogor, Indonesia on December 7-9, 1987. The volume contains the country reports on the state of the art in the different Southeast Asian countries, the regional researchers on timber trees and other woody plants, estate crops, fruit and ornamental plants, as well as some general topics on plant tissue culture. The resolutions and recommendations given by the scientists at the conclusuon of the Sysposium are also included.
