One of the principal thrusts of the Forestry Department in its pursuit of 5-tart Excellence in Tropical Forestry by the turn of the century is instilling social consciousness among the people of Brunei Darussalam on the importance of the forests. This is aimed at making everybody understand and appreciate that the forests are both our national heritage and vehicle towards socio-ecxonomy prosperity. It is, in fact, the key to our future, as a nation.
