The mangrove forests are probably the best well kept secrets in Brunei Darussalam, almost pristine and untouched and left in its natural state. They are found in all the districts of Brunei and along the coastlines. Only specialized plants such as the Rhizophore, Sonneratia, and Avicennia species can only adapt and vigorously grow in this kind of unique environment. These rich vegetation is the abode of unique mammals such as proboscis monkeys, colourful resident and migratory birds, reptiles and marine life.
