his academic exercise has 5 chapters. The first chapter describes the problem statement of the project, the aim of the project, the scope of the project, the project site and the methodology employed. The second chapter deals with the theoretical concept of divorce. It also briefly explains the Muslim Bruneian society. In the third chapter, the research findings are discussed and categorized with respect to race, nationality, age of marriage, age at which divorce occurred, education levels, monthly income and other relevant factors. There is also a complete analysis of the divorce situation in Brunei with thorough comparison between the situation in the Brunei and Muara district and the Belait district. The fourth chapter of this academic exercise will discuss the general causes for divorce in Negara Brunei Darussalam with emphasis on the main reason of divorce in Brunei and Muara district. Furthermore, an analysis of the implications of divorce is also presented and discussed. The final chapter (chapter 5) summarizes the results of this academic exercise and gives possible solution to help alleviate the worrying trend of divorce currently occurring in Negara Brunei Darussalam.
