Abstract

Maintenance is an essential responsibility of the husband and father as head of the family. In addition, maintenance is also the responsibility of children to their parents. Maintenance is meant is to provide all the needs of his wife and children, such as food, clothing, shelter and other facilities. At this time issues and the refusal of the husband or parents provide for his wife and children and also parental abandonment issues by their children often so discussion. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the living spouse, rights and duties of a father to give maintenance to their children and the responsibilities of child maintenance to both parents. In this study, questionnaire and documentation used as an instrument to measure the raised questions. In the questionnaire the researcher will ask some objective questions to some respondents. While in the method of documentation is the researcher will use the Quran, hadith and fiqh books written by the scholars of Islam as a reference. Results of studies have found that lack of understanding of living among the factors crises alimony is not met. This research hopes to benefit and contribute to a better understanding to the public about marriage especially responsibilities to wife, children and parents including the maintenance of his wife and children after a dissolution of marriage.
