Abstract

This thesis is intended to introduce about marriage in Islam. In addition, in this debate I also debate about marriage culture and wedding celebration in Brunei. Here, Researcher multiply the reading of Islamic law and the fatwa book by mufti Brunei government. Because marriage culture in Brunei has long been questioned about the hukum and Researcher met with an old woman known as pengangun and Researcher also interviewed ustazah Dr Datin Hjh Mariah. As a result of this research, a wedding celebration in Brunei Darussalam has changed over the ages. Previously using musical instruments and singers, and now use the speaker. Meanwhile, the first marriage carry over to the current times, and have been accepted by society as a wedding culture in Brunei Darussalam and Islam does not prohibit a festival or culture especially in the wedding ceremony except the marriage that consists of elements that are contrary to Islamic law.
