Karya Terjemahan Melayu-Arab "Fatawa Mufti Ad-Daulah 1994-1995" Brunei Darussalam: Kajian Prosedur & Strategi Penterjemahan

Abstract

Ever since Islam took place in Malay surroundings, the capability of translating Arabic language into Malay language has played a big role in contributing this activity. On the other hand, translating Malay language into Arabic language is extremely limited. Several factors are identified which may lead to this cause. Very few Malay literatures are entitled to be translated into Arabic language due to the low quality of the literatures themselves. Thus, the effort of translating Malay literature into Arabic language is left far behind compared to translating Arabic literary works into Malay language. This paper discusses one example of translation produced by the Government of Brunei Darussalam under the State Mufti's Office namely the translation of "Fatwa Mufti Kerajaan 1994-1995" into Arabic language entitled "Fatawa Mufti ad-Daulah 1994-1995".
