Abstract

This study aims to explore how cultural and social norms influence family financial support within Islamic law and Bruneian society. It specifically focuses on the financial support provided by husbands to their families and relatives, and it also discusses various issues related to family maintenance. The study uses three main methods: gathering information from various sources such as old and new fiqh books, fatwas, magazines, conducting contemporary studies, and comprehensive analysis through online resources and libraries. Additionally, it includes gathering opinions from Bruneian society through questionnaires to gain a better understanding of the topic. The study hopes to contribute significantly to developing more effective methods and policies for addressing complex issues related to family maintenance.
