Abstract
Debt has become a common issue worldwide, whether it's for individuals, families, or countries. However, Islam has provided an easy way for those who are less capable of borrowing for their livelihood, even though it is not encouraged in Islam. Indeed, what is halal (permissible) is clear, and what is haram (forbidden) is clear. Allah Ta'ala has prescribed debt in Islamic transactions, and the scholars have agreed that it is permissible in Islam. The objective of this study is to raise awareness of the importance of the concept of debt at an early stage to the community, that there are several concepts of debt. The problem of this study is about the effects of delaying debt payments and what is the ruling if one delays payment. The research method refers to sources from the Quran and As-Sunnah, articles, papers, journals, and the internet. The findings of this study will be summarized in the conclusion, In sha Allah.
