Abstract
This study aims to explain the meaning of Ar-rahnu (Pawn Broking) in Islamic jurisprudence and the understanding of UNISSA students regarding Ar-rahnu. The study also introduces the concept of pawn broking in Islam, the necessity of using Shariah sources, and the practice of Ar-rahnu used in Brunei Darussalam, namely the BIBD Micro Financing scheme. This academic writing focuses on comparing the laws of Ar-Rahnu from a Shariah perspective and what is practiced in modern times. It also aims to demonstrate the practice of Ar-rahnu in this country so that students can broaden their minds and information about Ar-rahnu (Pawn Broking) more widely and deeply. Additionally, students can enhance their knowledge of Ar-Rahnu law from a Shariah perspective. At the same time, the researcher also provides research findings and discussions based on research questions distributed and collected among respondents.
