Abstract
This study discusses and focuses on Standard Chartered Bank in applying Islamic services. Standard Chartered Brunei Securities now offers compliant investments to subsidiaries. Standard Chartered Bank became the first conventional bank in Brunei to implement the Islamic window. After conventional banks realized that many investors and customers invest with Islamic banks for religious reasons, conventional banks started Islamic Window services that offer services to those who want to invest without interest (interest). There are many conventional banks that provide services according to Shariah principles. However, in the beginning, these conventional banks could not receive a large number of customers because customers were sceptical that these banks could not provide interest-free banking services. Recently, Islamic window services in conventional banks have improved and tried to offer various services like banks without interest (interest) to their customers. Opening an Islamic window in a conventional bank is a complex process. There are many regulations that should be used by conventional banks to create the Islamic window concept. This study will explain banking operations. Findings from this study can also be used as a basic reference in future conversion initiatives. Through this research, the researcher will discuss more about this topic to make Bruneians better understand the Islamic Window concept implemented by Standard Chartered Bank Brunei.
