Abstract
Buying and selling in fiqh terms is called al-bai' which means selling, replacing, and exchanging something for something else. The word albai' in Arabic is sometimes used for its opposite meaning, namely the word ash-syira (buy). So in this study, we look at the extent to which the Brunei community understands this trade. Which one is more efficient and intelligent for individuals or the community regarding buying and selling in transactions within the country or abroad. More alert for the community to choose wisely between buying halal and haram when shopping. The importance of this issue is taken very seriously, so that the community is more sensitive to the pros and cons of buying and selling and can directly expand this knowledge out there. This research method will be carried out by referring to articles, papers, journals and also questionnaire studies through applications that focus more on the students of higher education institutes. The objective of the writing is to give awareness and the importance of buying and selling especially for school students and institutes of higher learning, including for the general public i.e. the Brunei community that buying and selling is an act that is encouraged because it has the benefit of being able to generate sales that are made it causes a benefit for humans. The findings concluded that the majority of respondents, more than 50%, were study of buying and selling in Islam and that this study is expected to be beneficial and contribute towards increasing understanding about it.
