Abstract
The problem of study is the law of polygamy which still remains a debate in the present era, causing negative effects on the relationship between husband, wife, family, and surrounding society. Polygamy can be practiced with conditions set according to Sharia law. Polygamy can also be done for specific reasons acceptable under Sharia law and Islam. The focus of this study is the law of polygamy related to Sharia Law, namely the law within the four schools of thought: Shafi'i, Hanafi, Maliki, and Hanbali, due to the wife's inability to produce offspring. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the law of polygamy limited to the reason of the wife's inability to produce offspring. To achieve this goal, the researcher went to the library to obtain fiqh books on this study, and the researcher also studied articles published on the internet.
