Abstract
Drug abuse is an issue that is gaining serious attention in society, including in the context of Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile, Islamic law and the laws of Brunei Darussalam set strict penalties for drug abuse, including fines and imprisonment. The strategy of preventing and handling drug abuse in the context of Islam and the law of Brunei Darussalam involves a holistic approach involving education, community awareness, law enforcement, as well as the development of rehabilitation and healing programs for the individuals involved. This study provides a deeper understanding of the Islamic views and laws of Brunei Darussalam on drug abuse as well as provides guidance for the development of more effective strategies and programs in preventing and addressing this problem in the Muslim cultural community.
