Abstract
Organ transplantation is the replacement of a diseased and damaged organ with a healthy organ or tissue from a donor. It is the most effective treatment in cases of endstage organ failure where there are no other treatment alternatives. Organ donation can be done during life or after death with certain conditions after being evaluated by medical experts according to policies and guidelines published by the Singapore Ministry of Health. In addition, the method of fiqh (Qawā’id Fiqhīyah) such as the concept of emergency allows the prohibition of al-Ḍarūrah tubīḥu maḥẓūrāt and choosing the lesser emergency between the two emergencies of Akhaffu al-Ḍararayn is the basis for the authorization of organ transplantation when there is a life-threatening illness. To achieve the objective of writing this study, this study uses the interview method, which is with the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS).
