Abstract

Marriage is considered as Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In Islam, Muslims generally learned about its provisions, its conditions and other matters related to it. The objective of this research is to find out the conditions of civil marriage in Singapore, such as the permission and requirements to marry in the country. There are many civil marriages between Muslim and non-Muslim couples taking place and this creates problems for society and the law. Among the reasons for civil marriage between Muslim and non-Muslim couples is that they like each other, the Wali does not give consent for the child to marry. It is prohibited by Islamic Sharia.
