Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of studying the Islamic heritage books, known as Kitab Turath, in the context of Islamic studies. The paper focuses on the origins and characteristics of Kitab Turath, the significance of Ibn Hisham's Sirah Nabawiyyah, and the level of awareness and utilization of Kitab Turath among university students in their Islamic studies. The paper is specifically aimed at students of Sultan Sharif Ali University (UNISSA) who are taking courses in Sirah Rasul Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam and Khulafa Rasyidin, from years 1 to 4. By reading this paper, students will gain a better understanding of the value of Kitab Turath in Islamic studies and its potential benefits to society and the Muslim community. The paper also emphasizes the need for preserving the intellectual heritage of Islam.
