The Consequences of Pandemic Covid-19 to the Halal Food Industry in Brunei Darussalam

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic. It is considered an infectious disease and life-threatening. Pandemic Covid-19 not only affects the health of someone, but it has consequences to the food security of a country, including Brunei Darussalam, with the problem of disruption of Halal meat supply due to temporary suspension of the local Halal food inspector from visiting overseas abattoirs. This study aims to unfold the consequences of the pandemic Covid-19 to the Halal Food Industry in Brunei Darussalam.
