Abstract

This research aims at highlighting the impact of the Institute Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on achieving Islamic development in Brunei Darussalam society. The researcher adopts a descriptive analytical method to address the issue. The data related to the subject was collected through documents and interviews with professors, administrative officers and graduates from the Institute. The researcher analysed and evaluated the institute’s courses and curricula to determine their role in the development of the Islamic personality on the one hand, and reveal the level of contribution of graduates from the Institute to developing Brunei Darussalam society on the other hand. The research concluded with a number of results, the most important of which are: The educational objectives of the courses and curricula contribute significantly to the achievement of Islamic development of the students, and that the Institute has produced many Quran Memorisers who influenced the Brunei Darussalam community, whether in memorising the Holy Qur’an, or by means of involvement in various other fields.
