Abstract
This research aims to study the superiority of diplomatic relations during the reign of the Messenger of God Almighty, (May God’s Almighty prayers and peace be upon him) in Medina, from the first year to the fifth year of Hijrah. The first part of the research is evoted to the explanation of the nature of diplomatic relations. The second part dealt with the historical development of diplomatic relations and the elements of diplomatic relations in the da’awah (calling people to Islam) of the Prophet, peace be upon him. In the third part, the researcher analysed the superiority of diplomatic relations during the era of the Messenger of God Almighty, (May God’s Almighty prayers and peace be upon him) in Medina. The study used analytical method and produced significant findings, namely, the messenger or preacher needs to know the language of the target audience, to ensure the discussions go well without the need for a translator. That the Prophet is sent only by Allah alone without associating anyone with Him, and that his aim is to conduct da’awah (calling people to Islam) to Islam. Apart from da’awah, the preacher is to call people to the oneness of God Almighty and to urge them to abandon the worship of idols. The messenger also plays a role of iniciating diplomatic notes for the better relantionship among the people and follows Allah’s command. Looking at the Prophet’s personality, He is a trustworthy person who is ready to conduct da’awah, aided by revelations and mu’jizāt (miracles).
