Abstract
Food and Drink is an important thing for Islamic religion and also for other human being in this world. We must know what is permitted and what is prohibited in food and drink for our own benefits and to the society. My purpose in making this thesis is so that we can distinguish in more detail what is meant by halal and haram or what is permitted and what is prohibited in food and drink in Islam. There are two clauses or contents that will be presented in this discussion, the first is what is meant by Halal and Haram in Islam and the second is about Halal and Haram food and drink. In the first clause I will explain more detail about the meaning of halal and also haram. Then in the second clause I explain about the meaning of food and drink and also, the different category in food and drink. In the second clause, I also discuss an issue about the law for Kopi Luwak, because in this modern world there are many new foods and drinks that we didn’t know of whether it is permitted or prohibited for the Islamic religion.
