Abstract

The content of this research discusses about the problem of increasing divorce cases among the Bruneian community and ways to overcome it. It is a very important title in the field of Ahwal Syakhsiah. The purpose is to explain the concept of divorce, its conditions, the causes of divorce and its laws according to Islamic Law and the Laws of Brunei Darussalam and it also explains the effects of divorce in terms of fiqh and ways to overcome it. This research aims to increase knowledge about divorce that occurs in the world, especially which occurs among Bruneian. And it also states the statistics of divorce cases that occur in Brunei Darussalam. Divorce is a form of way allowed in law to break the marriage contract between husband and wife. The results show that there are eight factors that have been identified as contributing to the increase in divorce rates in the community; personality factors, sexuality problems, communication, third party interventions, drug abuse, lack of religious education, neglect of responsibilities, and left by partner. . Among the causes of high divorce rates in society in Brunei Darussalam, among them are association with third parties, religious differences, drug abuse, financial problems, health problems, too many conflicts, extramarital affairs, lack of commitment or infidelity, and so on.
