Abstract

This research aims to discuss the concepts and theories of the meaning of security and safety in linguistic perspective, the psychological perspective, and Qur’anic perspective, explain its importance in human life and the human needs to both, as well as knowing the types of security and safety according to what is stated in al Qur’an al-Karim. At the same time, this research also aims to discuss the various security problems faced by the community today, whether it is related to psychological security, social security, intellectual security, economic security, political security, food security, or national security, by finding solutions to overcome these problems, and to know the impact of security and safety in protecting the community. This study is inductive analytic, where the researcher follows an inductive approach by collecting data from the verses of al-Qur’an, the books of Tafsir, and other books related to the topic, the researcher also relies on the method of analysis by extracting appropriate information from primary and secondary sources, then analyze it thoroughly. In conclusion, this study concludes that security and safety is a contemporary problem faced by the community, and the absence and lack of security and safety in various aspects of human life means a great disaster. The research has discovered several solutions to security problems in protecting the community, through the guidance of al-Qur’an: to follow the guidelines of Islam and take care of the welfare of fellow human beings. The research also discovered that achieving security and safety leads to better lives for individuals and community. The study also reiterated that the responsibility of maintaining safety and security is a social responsibility that should be borne by all people to protect themselves and others.
