Abstract

The issues of study in this research are: the extent to the method of preaching contained in the Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari’s books, during his lifetime Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari has written several books relating to religious issues, community and publicity collected in the book "Irsyadus Syaari". Then how is the application of the method in its delivery to the community. This study aims to recall the figure of a great ulama from Java, namely Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari through discussion of the method of preaching listed in books written by Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari, and its application in social life, as well as explaining the elements and intermediaries that can be help strengthen the ways of preaching in humans. The methodology used in this discussion is the inductive and descriptive method, by extrapolating the understanding of the method of preaching contained in books by Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari, as well as referring to other sources on this subject, such as interpretation, hadith and da’wah in order to add knowledge about the development of da'wah methods that support human beings, in accordance with what has been explained Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari. And finally the researcher uses the method of tahlili (analysis) to explain the thoughts of Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy’ari. The results of this study found that Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari had a high position among the Indonesian Ulama in the field of "Da'wah". In addition, the researcher found that the thoughts of Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy'ari greatly influenced the independence of Indonesia and the Community Organization (Nahdhatul Ulama ’). This was found in the book "Muqoddimah Al-Qonun Al-Asasi Li Jam'iyyati Nahdhatil Ulama '." At the end of the discussion, the researcher had reached several discoveries, the most important is the method of preaching contained in books written by Shaykh Muhammad Hasyim Asy Asy. 'ari refers to the method of da'wah mentioned in the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, where the method includes six areas of discussion namely the Scope of Morality and Fiqh of Worship which produces methods of education and teaching, the scope of aqeedah, history, religious matters in society which results in advisory and critical methods, and the scope of Political Organizations results in leadership methods.
