Abstract

This academic writing is mainly aimed to expand the knowledge and explain about third gender; hermaphrodite, in how to determine his gender; by using different methods of Islamic jurisprudence and medicine. This writing uses library research methods and analytical method. By using analytical method, the jurists agreed in determining the types of hermaphrodite according to the four sections of Islamic jurisprudence, by examining where the urine come from for kids and for adults signs that indicate their type of gender such as dreams for men and menstruation for women according from their arguments meanwhile for doctoral method surgery is needed to correct or change one's gender. By using library research methods, collect the informations with various references of Fiqh books that related to the hermaphrodite and and medical books. Hopefully this academic writing will benefit to the readers and no guidance except Allah Ta'ala. Amin.
