Abstract
This dissertation revolves around the study on words especially the formation of derivative verbs in Arabic and Malay Languages in their morphological systems. The problems arise in the subject matter of adding alphabets and meanings in these derived verbs with the structures of the words, eminently while learning second languages. Therefore, this dissertation aims to recognize concept in forming derived verbs with their meanings as to compare between Arabic and Malay Languages. It is also aims to reveal the importance of roles from these additions to form up a derived verb and its meaning as well as to acknowledge the effect to both languages. Through contrastive study, it identifies and analyzes the similarities and differences in the formation of derivative verbs and their meanings in Arabic and Malay Languages. Furthermore, it aims to conclude with expected implications while learning and teaching both languages on the subject matter as well as in the field of translations. Resulting from this comparative study, the writer hopes to encourage in specializing in these words’ formation particularly derived words by using relevant translation to lessen implications and proposing as a reference for future needs.
