Abstract

This thesis ″Rukhsah in prayer and fasting, and its implementations″ is aimed at gaining more knowledge and understanding about these two essential worships in Islam. This thesis is focusing on the problems of rukhsah in prayer and fasting, and how far it is being practiced nowadays. The method of this thesis refers from books of Feqh, Fatwafatwa, and internet. The writer has divided her thesis into three chapters. The introduction chapter is all about understanding of rukhsah and ‘azimah, dalil-dalil, hukum-hakam, conditions, types and so on. The first chapter is discussing the problem of rukhsah in prayer and how it is being practiced nowadays. And, the second chapter is explaining the problem of rukhsah in fasting and how it is being practiced nowadays. As a result, from this thesis, the researcher concludes that there are a lot of mishaps nowadays, such as: the countries which are near to the pole have long night, having more difficulties in waiting for the Isya’ prayer, so Muslims over there can compile their Isya’ prayer. There is also an exemption for the asthma patients who are regularly using the inhaler, because it’s oxygen for them to breathe in, so they can break their fast due to such difficulty.
