Abstract
Self-defense or personal defense is often an issue where people are often misunderstood by some judgement judgements against cases dealing with self-defense. My intention to make this study is to give a clear and concise picture of this title. In my study, I have two examples of cases that will give readers more insights. This study also hoped that it would be a reference and guide for the community to be more sensitive in making actions in terms of self-defense for example in the preparations or what to do if faced with situations that require us to defend themselves. My study will contain three clauses. In the first clause I will comment on self-defense in Islamic law, for example in terms of definition, terms and conditions. In the second clause it is the same but in the perspective of Brunei law. In it, I will also present cases with respect to personal defenses and their decisions. In the third paragraph, I will comment on the similarities and differences of self-defense between Islamic law and the laws of Brunei. What I can conclude is that there are many similarities between Islamic law and the laws of Brunei and the difference between them is very little.
