Abstract

People are encouraged to get medical treatment as long as it is not against the teachings of Islam. Allah has not created a disease without creating a cure except old age, as Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said "Allah did not create any illness without also creating the remedy, except death [old age]", (narrated by Muslim). Therefore, this academic exercise is aimed to educate the public about the purity of Islamic Medical Treatment in accordance to Al-Quran, Hadith and scholar views. The method of research of this academic exercise is by referring to the Islamic Jurisprudence books, medical books and articles from internet. To achieve the objective of this academic exercise, research in terms of analyzing public's views on Islamic Medical Treatment has been done by distributing questionnaires among the members of public. Moreover, interview session with the expert in Islamic Medical Treatment has also been conducted to examine and analyze the reality of Islamic Medical Treatment. This academic exercise contains three chapters. The first chapters explains future of Islamic Medical Treatment and its classification in the second chapter. The last chapter discusses the effects of Islamic Medical Treatment on the society of Brunei Darussalam. The important findings gain from this academic exercise is the ability to understand and learn more about Islamic Medical Treatment. Moreover, Islamic Medical Treatment has taken its place among the public although some are still having confusions and problems in understanding the real medical treatment in pure Islamic way. It is hoped that readers will benefit from the academic exercise.
