Abstract
Brunei Darussalam is very concerned with Halal food issues. The Halal Food Control Division (BKMH) is one of the departments under the Department Of Syariah Affairs (JHES), the Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU) that is responsible for controlling food issues on an ongoing basis. This department plays an important role in controlling food products in this country. This research aim to identify the management of halal and haram and its role as a department that examines food halal in Brunei Darussalam, and its profound and clear importance of the system of food management in emphasizing Halal foods. The researcher follows the inductive method and the field approach to reach the mentioned goal. Through the inductive method, the researcher will be able to access the knowledge of the food conceding with Sharia Islam and at the same time complying with the laws prescribed by Brunei Darussalam. While the field method will be able to identify information about the process system or procedure used as information about their system processes is only available in the Halal and Haram division. The results of the study showed that all food products analyzed in Brunei in line with the state-defined criteria. In addition, knowing the duties and responsibilities of this division, the community will be more confident in the use of halal products that were halal, noting that the law established by the Brunei and the system established by the Halal Food Control division is necessary to provide information, practice and applications because nonetheless the existence of this system, there is still confusion in the community in its application. This research presents to avoid confusion and suspicion in the community about halal food, as it is currently presenting a wide variety of food products. With this study also, the community is able to understand the meaning of the concept that Brunei itself wants to achieve "Halalan Toyyiban" in accordance with the Brunei country known as the "Negara Zikir"
