Abstract
This paper discusses about the responsibilities of Muslim women in Islamic Tarbiyah in other words “Islamic education” within themselves, their husband, the parents in general and towards children in particular, from the stage of pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and child development stages. The purpose of this investigation is to reveal the responsibility of Muslim women in educating children through tarbiyah faith and morals, to identify the factors that can help the Muslim women in a process of educating their children, and finally to identify the appropriate methodology in children’s education. It used method of Thematic Tafsir and method Tarikhi, Wasfi, Istiqraie, Istinbathie, and Tahlili. Basically, these are reviews that referred to important and significant books. Based on the findings, it was found that Muslim women are women who adhere to a pure religion and do all the commandments of Allah and leaving His forbiddens. The study also found that the responsibilities of Muslim women include looking after her pregnancy with care ; spiritually and physically by remembering of Allah, pleased and grateful with everything that Allah granted without choosing a child’s gender, either a male or a female, this is because the pleasure of a pregnant woman towards her baby will contribute to either positive or negative impact to her pregnancy. The study also found that breastfeeding has positive elements in the development of a child, unlike artificial milk that is usually expected to give a negative effect on children. In addition, the findings also showed that the factors that can ensure the success of Muslim women include the responsibility in educating children by following the teachings of Islam, and having a sense of moral responsibility and good qualities. Some recommendations have been suggested to Muslim women where they should regard Al-Quran and As Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessing of Allah upon Him as a stake and guidance in educating their children, and also it is compulsory for the Muslim women to instill Islamic values within themselves since their early childhood.
