The Evaluation on Takaful Industry in Brunei Darussalam

Abstract
The purpose of this research is basically to evaluate the Takaful Industry in Brunei Darussalam. Among the specific objectives of this research is to know what are the products and services offered by takaful companies in Brunei, to identify the customer perceptions about the takaful companies, to discuss the current issues about the takaful sector in Brunei and lastly to find a better solution on how to improve the Brunei Takaful Industry. This paper focuses mostly on the customer perceptions about their respective takaful companies. Therefore a survey had been conducted on this matter. About 100 questionnaires had been distributed to the public, focuses mainly to those who have takaful policy. The survey had shown a useful result that can be used by takaful companies to improve their products and services. The result also identifies the common problem that most of the takaful policy holders encountered such as the claiming process and long waiting hours. The survey also asked about the respondents' opinion on how to improve company performance. Among the most given answers are more training given to employees, improving the computer system and frequent survey on the customers' perceptions
