Abstract
This Scientific study titled “Hukum residing in non-muslim countries”. This thesis is aimed to determine deeply about hukum of muslim residing in non-muslim countries especially among Bruneians and its various of impact. The method of this thesis refers from books of Feqh, Fatwa-fatwa, internet and also giving questionnaires to 100 respondents representing residents from Brunei and Muara District. This Scientific study is divided into four chapters. The introduction chapter revolves around the concept of Hijrah, reside, and Addar in terms of Fiqh which includes understanding in terms of language and terminology, proves of implementation and so on. The first chapter focuses on the explanations of reside in terms of its reasons, conditions and types of reside. The second chapter discusses and explains the ulama-ulama views about the problem of hukum residing in non-muslim countries. While in the third chapter, explains the positive and negative impacts of residing in non-muslim countries and also focuses on the knowledge and understanding about residing in non-muslim countries by Brunei society. This scientific study finding show that the conclusion explain the ulama-ulama views about the problem of hukum residing in non-muslim countries. This scientific research shows that large numbers of respondents lack a concrete knowledge about impacts of residing in non-muslim countries.
