Abstract
Indeed, Syari’ah Islamiyah was established based on ways to facilitate and protect the public interest of the people by governing specific rulings or hukm to fulfill their needs at times of difficulties. This study was conducted particularly to know further the rulings or hukm of a traveller in Islam, its implementation and concession introduced in Syari’ah in order to facilitate the people in respect of public interest. The method of the study is by making inference from a number of books of Fiqh of Mazhab Asy-Syafie. From the study, it can be seen that rulings of a traveler in Islam will not drift away from concession or Rukhsah Asy-Syari’ah, where exceptions to general law will be granted in order to preserve the public interest. This is because in travelling there will be hardships, that require such concession or exception to the general rules. Also, it can be seen that there are things that in general norms it is not necessary for a person to know, however, when a person becomes a traveler, those things become crucial and compulsory for one to learn. All in all, this study will discuss further on the rulings of a traveler in Islam and matters related to it in respect of the concession or Rukhsah Asy-Syar’iah and other aspects that is required for a traveler to know.
