Abstract
This study aims to identify how to take care of the environment from the perspective of Islamic Jurisprudence and its practical implementation in Brunei Darussalam. The researcher of this study uses an inductive approach and interview session with several officers who work at the relevant government department and unit of the environment in this country. The objective in using the inductive approach is to identify the method of protecting the environment from Islamic Jurisprudence perspective, meanwhile the objective of conducting interview session is to identify the practical implementation of environmental care in this country. From the result of the research findings that have been made, the researcher found that the implementation of practical environmental care in this country is in line with the method of Islamic Jurisprudence perspective. This can be seen through the efforts that made by the government organizations and the non-government organization together of taking care and protecting the Brunei Darussalam’s environment. But it is very sad that the awareness amongst the population of this country has not yet reached a satisfactory level as expected. Thus, the researcher hopes this study will benefit the study’s reader because this study presents various information about environment as in evidences that show human’s obligation to protect the environment, the importance of protecting the environment, the impact from not protecting it and the method of the environmental care. Then the researcher gained important conclusions and useful recommendations such as the Islamic Law urges to protect the environment and that the environment today is exposed to pollutions. And the people of Brunei should unite and support the government efforts even practicing those efforts in their daily life until Brunei environment becomes clean and beautiful.
