Abstract
This study investigates the influence of public trust on the revival of Waqf institutions in Uganda. Based on survey from 320 respondents, the findings reveal that the majority of the respondents do not trust Islamic religious bodies in the country because they believed that their leaders are not trustworthy, accountable, transparent, reliable, competent and honest. Moreover, respondents believed that good governance, transparency and accountability are vital in reviving Waqf institution in Uganda. This paper is perhaps the first to examine the impact of public trust on revival of Waqf institutions in Uganda.
